Ten Thousand Miles

The great English folk singer Nic Jones sings a version of of Ten Thousand Miles back in 2011 - on stage, as the caption says - “for the first time since 1981. He’s accompanied by his son Joe at the concert “In Search of Nic Jones.”

Ten Thousand Miles

Fare you well, my own true love
Farewell for a while
I am going away but I’ll be back
If I go ten thousand miles

Ten thousand miles, my own true love
Ten thousand miles or more
And the rocks may melt and the seas may burn
If I no more return

Oh don’t you see yon lonesome dove
Sitting on yon ivy tree
She is weeping for her own true love
As I shall weep for mine

Oh come back, my own true love
And stay a while with me
If I had a friend all on this earth
You have been a friend to me
